UDA Nominations: Isaac Mwaura is Going Home After Insulting His Godfathers

It would need a special miracle for Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura to win the UDA ticket for the Ruiru parliamentary seat.

Provisional results show that chances of Mwaura carrying the day are very slim.

The sitting MP, Simon King’ara is leading by a big margin.

The senator’s campaigns have been dramatic and controversial.

He tried all theatrics, including visiting families and helping them prepare food and riding on motorcycles, but it seems his gimmicks did not work.

Mwaura surged to limelight in 2013 when the ODM party under Raila Odinga picked him to be a Nominated MP.

Before the 2017 elections, he ditched ODM and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party to contest for the Ruiru seat. He lost to King’ara.

The President gave him a Senate nomination to represent people with disabilities.

But he turned against Uhuru and Raila when he joined Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA in December 2020.

He said the Head of State and the ODM boss are greedy leaders and accused their families of holding Kenya hostage for many years.
