Advocate of the high court Peter Wanyama has weighed in on the ongoing conversation regarding broken relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto saying the two are irreconcilable.

The rift went a notch higher on Wednesday during Madaraka day celebrations as the President snubbed his number 2,the first time such a scenario has been witnessed since Jubilee admnistration took office in 2013.

According to City lawyer Wanyama, the two cannot resume working together despite efforts by a section of religious leaders to initiate talks that would end strained relationship between the two in a bid to facilitate smooth functioning of government of the day.

“DP’s public political accusations that President Uhuru caused the SGR to be constructed upto his private property in Naivasha must have hit President Uhuru hard. The public humiliation of DP Ruto by the President and the First Lady is telling of a political relationship that has broken down completely” he stated.

The March 9, 2018, handshake between President Kenyatta and his once-erstwhile rival Raila Odinga is believed to be the lethal injection that killed the bromance the head of state and his second in command displayed ahead of the 2017 polls.

The President has openly declared his support for ODM party leader in his 2022 Presidential bid on Azimio la Umoja ticket,a move that has worsened the relationship between the former allies who ascended to power on the same ticket in 2013.

Attempts by the clergy to intervene and help them mend their differences and steer the country towards a peaceful political transition ahead of the 2022 general elections have failed.

During the 19th annual National Prayer Breakfast on May 26,Ruto publicly requested President Kenyatta for forgiveness in the wake of a historic political fallout between the two leaders.

“I also know that serving as the Deputy President, I may have fallen short of expectations of my boss His Excellency the President my good friend, I ask for your forgiveness,” Ruto pleaded.

Wanyama further urged Kenyans to mind about their own lives and remain unaffected by differences amongst politicians
