UN Women: Karua’s appointment a gain in gender balance

Societal discrimination is a major setback for women scaling to management. UN Women Deputy Country Director Rukaya Mohammed says the patriarchal nature of African culture tends to subjugate women. While stating that women easily steer development from family to national level, Rukaya lauded Martha Karua’s presidential running mate nomination as a gain in gender balance.
