A freshly released report has ranked the University of Nairobi seventh among most popular institutions of higher learning in Africa.
The 2020 African University Ranking survey independently ranked 200 universities in Africa with one of the requirements needed to qualify for the listing being that the institution must be offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees).

Strikingly from the review, the first six institutions were from South Africa led by University of Pretoria, University of Cape Town, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, University of KwaZulu-Natal and Universiteit Stellenbosch.
“Our aim is to provide a non-academic league table of the top universities in Africa based on valid, unbiased and non-influenceable web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than data submitted by the universities themselves,” the report read.
