Angry residents burned down Rioma Police Station in Kisii Country over the death of a local businessman on Sunday 5 July.
It has been reported that the protesters claimed that the businessman was shot dead by a police officer stationed in the area after a heated argument over hand sanitizer use.
The protesters gathered and took to the streets demanding justice for the killed local before storming Rioma Police Station which they first bombarded with stones before setting it a blaze.
The officers at the station we’re forced to flee the area as it was clear that the angry protesters were baying for their bloods.
The angry irate mob used anything within their reach to destroy the station even as large waves of smoke started emerging.
The protesters further called for the police officer allegedly responsible for the businessman’s demise to be arrested and charged with murder.
