Nairobi and Kisumu streets on Tuesday afternoon witnessed an unusual excitement from members of the public, after President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the restriction of movement outside and into the city.

Separately, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has taken issue with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to ease the cessation of movement across the republic. While announcing his displeasure on Twitter, Murkomen said the ease of movement in and out of Nairobi and Mombasa will multiply infections.

”I really hope I am wrong but lifting Cessation of Movement in and out of Nairobi and Mombasa will multiply the infections 10 times. I am really worried about our older folks in the countryside. Anyway what do I know ?” Murkomen, said.

On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the end of cessation of movement in the country during his sixth public address since the first case of Covid-19 was reported in the country.
