President Uhuru Kenyatta has told his Deputy President William Ruto to prepare for a bruising battle as the clock winds down to the August General Election.

Speaking during a Jubilee Party parliamentary group (PG) meeting at State House, Nairobi, the President insisted that his party is not dead as the DP’s camp has been alleging.

The Head of State detailed that for the last four years he has been immersed in fulfilling the promises he made to Kenyans in the run-up to the 2013 and 2017 elections.

“Jubilee is not dead; we just went to work. We have been working and we have a track record to show,” he had.

The Jubilee Party Leader exuded confidence in undoing the gains made by his deputy in his Mt Kenya backyard.

The party is set to hold its National Delegates Conference (NDC) on February 26 and 27 at the Kenyatta International Conference (KICC) in Nairobi.

It’s during the convention when the President is likely to endorse ODM leader Raila Odinga as his choice successor.

Also, Jubilee will hit the ground running and engulf itself in political activities ranging from rebranding to recruitment of new members to coalition building.

In today’s forum, the President remained that upbeat that his work will help him convince Kenyans the person he thinks is the right man to replace him in six months.

“This is a marathon and in a marathon, one has to know at which point to sprint,” he said.

Popular Jubilee party information social media activist Pauline Njoroge noted: “We will seek to get into a coalition with like-minded parties and support a presidential candidate with whom we share common ideals, who will treat us with respect, and with whom we can form the next government as an ‘Anchor Partner’.
