Waita storms Wavinya’s home turf

Machakos Governor Aspirant Nzioka Waita has hit the ground running with heightened political campaigns ahead of August 9 general election.

Waita accompanied by his running mate Florence Mwangangi Saturday made a tour of Kathiiani Constituency where they addressed residents drawn from various wards in an effort to popularize their bid.

He promised his competitors of a tough race adding that one of them has been rejected severally by the Machakos electorate warning that the situation will remain the same.

“One of my competitors has contested for the Machakos gubernatorial seat for two consecutive elections without winning. It is time they accepted the will of the people,” he said

The former State House Chief of Staff urged the residents to elect development conscious leaders who will purpose to spur the County’s economic growth.

The Machakos gubernatorial race has narrowed into a two-horse race between Waita, who is also the Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) party leader and former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti who bagged Wiper Party ticket through a direct nomination.

Other contestants include Deputy Governor Francis Maliti and  UDA’s Johnson Muthama.
