Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki’s daughter Wendy Muthoni has passed on.

Muthoni, a second-year law student at JKUAT Karen campus, passed on at a Nairobi hospital but the exact cause and day of death were not disclosed.

In a statement from State House on the evening of Sunday, July 19, President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a condolence message to the family of the CS.

“The president wished the family God’s fortitude during this difficult period of grief and assured them of his support as they come to terms with the big loss,” the statement read.

Deputy President William Ruto also eulogised Muthoni as a determined, diligent and honest lady who would be fondly remembered for her kindness and dependability.

“Our sympathies and prayers to the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Sicily Kariuki following the death of her precious daughter Wendy Muthoni ‘Noni’,” Ruto said.

Kenyans also joined the two top leaders in mourning the deceased with many praying for comfort for the bereaved family.

Muthoni’s death came at a time when the country was mourning the death of Citizen TV actor Charles Bukeko, also known as, Papa Shirandula.

Shirandula died at Karen hospital on the morning of Saturday, July 19, where he had been rushed to after developing breathing difficulties.

His body left Nairobi earlier today to Busia ahead of his burial tomorrow, Monday, July 2o.
