What pushed man to kill Moi University Medical student – Weekly Citizen

Naftali Kinuthia Njahi, the man who killed Ivy Wangechi, a sixth year Medical student at Moi University had complained to friends that the late was not willing to befriend him.

According to one of his friends, Kinuthia had tried all tricks to win the deceased. Apart from buying her a mobile phone, he could send her money via Mpesa.

And at Moi Referral Hospital where he is admitted, Kinuthia is fighting for his life and is not himself. He at one time told doctors attending to him to allow him to die.

Kinuthia was born in Murangá County in 1990 and was residing in Thika. He drove from Thika to Eldoret and murdered Wangeci using a knife and an axe. He bought the murder tools at a shop in Eldoret.

According to Kinuthia’s mother, Nancy, the two were in love for years and Kinuthia wanted to marry her.

Sources at the hospital say, Kinuthia is currently mentally handicapped. He was an employee of a betting firm Nairobi.
