You’ve left Kambas out in the cold, leaders tell Kalonzo

A section of Ukambani leaders has pleaded with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to reconsider his decision and rejoin Azimio.

Speaking in Machakos town the leaders led by Governors Charity Ngilu of Kitui, Kivutha Kibwana of Makueni and Machakos Gubernatorial aspirant Nzioka Waita, the leaders said Kalonzo should bite the bullet and sacrifice for the sake of the community.

“It is a pity for the Kamba community to be out of the next Government just because of an individual’s interest,” said Charity Ngilu.

Kalonzo pulled a surprise when he declared his presidential bid in what appeared to be a protest after he failed to clinch the Azimio running mate position.

Mrs Ngilu said the community is now at a crossroads and a laughing stock because of the Wiper leader’s move to reject the Chief Minister offer by an ‘incoming’ government.

She said Martha Karua had a reformist record and that feeling agitated because she took over the running mate slot was not enough to justify sacrificing the Kamba community in the next Government through Kalonzo distancing himself from Azimio.

Kivutha said instead of Kalonzo issuing threats he should cool down and rejoin Azimio to be part of the next Government.

” Deciding to go it alone is a clear indication Kalonzo has no good intention for the community but to want to plunge it in the everlasting poverty for being out of the next Government,” he said.

He said their meeting intended to lay a strategy to spearhead a door to door campaign of all Azimio affiliate parties in Ukambani to campaign for Raila Odinga and Martha Karua to form the next Government.

Mr Waita said 20pc of the government Kalonzo was given plus the chief CS was a clear testimony that Raila Odinga was not biased in sharing Azimio cake.

“One thousand and five hundred kilometres of tarmac plus what he was given is not a small thing and he should have taken without complaint” he added.”

” He alerted Kalonzo that things will not be as in the past when he managed to access to power through ‘pitia kati kati’ strategy and that he had no option but to accept the offer and come back to Azimio if he really was a gentleman.
