ZAMBIAN CHARGED WITH SH170.8 MILLION GOLD FRAUD.

A Zambian businessman has been charged before a Nairobi Court with Sh170.8 million gold fraud.

Bupe Chipando appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo and denied the charges.

Chipando is accused that on January 15,2021 at Nairobi within Nairobi County with another before court obtained ShSh170,816,734 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell 500 kilograms of gold to Bernhard Ten Brinke.

Prosecution told the Nairobi court that the accused conspired to defraud Brinke by falsely pretending he was carrying a genuine business of selling to him 500 kilograms gold.

Chipando is also accused that on diverse dates between September 1 and January 21 ,2021 at unknown place in Nairobi County jointly with another before court conspired to defraud Bernhard Ten Brinke Sh170,816,734.

He was released on a bond of Sh1 million or cash bail of Sh500,000. The criminal case to be consolidated with another before court.
