21 More Deaths as Kenya Records 840 New Covid-19 Infections

The national Covid-19 tally has risen to 239,692 cases after 840 people contracted the virus in the last 24 hours.

The cases were from the 8,129 samples tested, bringing to 2,406,052, the cumulative number of samples tested so far. The country’s positivity rate stands at 10.3 per cent.

In a statement issued on Saturday, 4th September, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that from the new cases, 812 are Kenyans while 28 are foreigners. There are 402 males and 438 females. The youngest case is a two-year-old baby and the oldest is 100.

Some 1,237patients have recovered from the disease, 1,104 are from the home-based and isolation care while 133 are from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 227,274.

Sadly, 21 more patients have succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 4,778.

Currently, there are 1,863 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 4,937 patients are in home-based isolation and care.
