33-year-old Redempta Kavindu is now the new Makueni County Public Service Board Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after she was sworn into office in the governor’s board room on Monday.
Kavindu was sworn in by Njeru Runji a Legal Officer in the County government in an event that was witnessed by Governor Kivutha Kibwana and members of the county public service board.
Before her new assignment, Kavindu served as a sub-county administrator, Ag. Director Monitoring and Evaluation and Chief of Staff in the County Government of Makueni.
Her academic credentials include PhD (on-going) Project Planning and Management- University of Nairobi (UoN), Masters in Project Planning and Management (UoN) and a First Class holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Kavindu is also a Certified Public Secretary.
Kavindu took oath of office Monday in an event graced by Governor Kivutha Kibwana and members of the County Public Service Board.
Speaking at the event, Governor Kibwana challenged the youth to be focused besides working hard so that they can be recognized hence play a role in government despite being young.
“As you take over this office I urge you to keep in mind these three virtues consistence, persistence and discipline,” observed Kibwana.
Addressing the same function, the outgoing CEO Evelyne Mwongeli encouraged her to remain courageous and work smart to serve the people of Makueni.
