The Ministry of Health on Saturday, 6th November announced 76 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 4,617 tested in the last 24 hours.
This brings to 253,813 the total number of confirmed cases with the cumulative tests so far being at 2,735,256. The positivity rate is now at 1.6 per cent.
From the cases, 70 are Kenyans and six foreigners with 45 males and 31 females. The youngest is a two-year-old child while the oldest is 93 years.
Some 41 patients recovered from the coronavirus, with 36 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while five were discharged from various health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries rose to 247,243.
Sadly, nine patients succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing the death toll to 5,305.
There are 418 patients currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,129 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
At the same time, 35 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 19 of whom are on ventilatory support and 16 on supplemental oxygen. No patient is under observation.
Another 119 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 117 of them in the general wards. Two patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Vaccination: A total of 5,611,772 vaccines had so far been administered across the country as of November 5th, 2021. 3,782,659 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 1,829,113. The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 6.7 per cent.
