The Ministry of Health has announced 96 new Covid-19 cases, raising the country’s caseload to 251,248.
In a statement issued on Thursday, 11th October, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the latest figure was derived from the 3,702 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
This brings to 2,609,854 the cumulative number of Covid-19 tests. The country’s positivity rate now stands at 2.6 per cent.
Of the new cases, 90 are Kenyans while six are foreigners, with 62 being males and 34 females. The youngest is a two-year-old baby, while the oldest is 86.
Kagwe said 293 that patients had recovered from the disease, 202 from the home-based and isolation care programme, and 91 from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries is 244,237.
Some nine more patients have succumbed, raising the death toll to 5,190.
