A Sh300 million 12-floor apartment block to accommodate 162 units is set to be built in Parklands.

Regulatory filings show the project will take about two years to execute on a quarter acre on Suswa Road in Parklands sub-county.

Zoning within the once secluded Parklands was recently altered to allow construction of high-rise residential and commercial buildings for Nairobi’s growing population.

Salsabil Heights Ltd said it had met the requirement as set by the zoning requirement for such a development set at 0.124 acres.

“At 0.1011 hectares (0.25 acres), the plot is large enough to accommodate the proposed project while adhering to the planning standards and policies provided by the County Government,” said the Environmental Impact Assessment report submitted to the National Environmental Management Authority (Nema)

Nema said anyone opposed to the project should present a written memorandum within the next one month or present oral submissions.

“The ground floor level will accommodate five parking bays, management offices, laundry room, salon, a residents-only mini-market, a store, a restaurant as well as changing rooms for the residents-only swimming pool,” it adds.
