Egerton University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rose Mwonyo is engaged in silent war with deputy Vice-chancellor Academic affairs, Alexander Kahi .
It is said ever since the University council suspended Prof Mwonyo and appointed Prof. Kahi in an acting capacity only for the court to reinstate her, the VC is of the notion Prof. Kahi has influence among council members and is working for her downfall.
Prof Mwonyo is currently accused of employing her daughter Christine Mwonyo as a lecturer despite her questionable academic papers.
The VC has also pushed for the promotion of Mrs Owido, her daughter in law without following the due process.
Owido was at one time interdicted by the council mid June 2018 on corruption related matter.
