Endebess Police Station kangaroo court – Weekly Citizen

Residents of Kwanza and Endebess areas have asked the Interior cabinet minister Fred Matiang’i to investigate reports that Endebess Police Station has been turned into kangaroo court as suspects arrested are not taken to law courts but instead, police officers ask them to negotiate with the accusers.

The residents, while appealing to area MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi and Endebess MP Robert Pukose, said that some of them had been asked to part with money during the negotiations.

“Some of the suspects are not even taken to court yet we record statements with police at the station,” Peter Juma said and asked Matiang’i to intervene.

M e a n w h i l e , parents have asked the Trans-Nzoia county commissioner Sam Ojwang to investigate bar owners along the Kitale/Eldoret route for selling beer to minors while others are operating without registration documents and licences.

The locals who included church leaders said that the notorious bars are located near Jovenna area and the owners run a brothel where school kids are sneaked in.
