Police said the incident occurred on Wednesday night at Kiongwani area on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

The incident comes barely a day after a similar accident in the same area also involving a Modern Coast bus and another from Tahmeed.

Last month, one person was killed following an accident involving a Modern Coast bus that hit a bump and rolled several times before landing in a ditch.

The accident occurred near Brooke Trading Centre on the Kericho –Nakuru highway.

And in June this year, eight people died in Bungoma after a Modern Coast bus collided with the matatu they were traveling in.

A bizarre incident in October last year saw a modern Coast bus burst into flames in Samburu, Kwale County.

Police said they were investigating the cause of the incident though no passengers were injured.
