Water Harvesting Authority cartel in dubious tender deals – Weekly Citizen

A one time acting chief executive officer (CEO) National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority Engineer Geoffrey Sang is a man under siege.

According to an insider, Eng. Sang and a cartel at the parastaal that falls under ministry of water, sanitation and irrigation are out to mint millions of shillings in suspicious projects they have initiated.

Using the current floods being experienced across the country, they have come up with three projects which they have earmarked for well-known companies, doing deals at the agency but give kickbacks to them.

Eng. Sang is lobbying to be appointed the CEO and boats of being close to CS Simon Chelugui.

In fact it has emerged Eng. Sang was instrumental in fixing embattled CEO Eng. Sammy Mburu.

Irungu

He is said to have implicated Mburu in misappropriation of funds while at Lake Victoria South Water Services Board.

When DCI ordered his arrest, Mburu went under but still calling shots at the parastatal.

Sources say, whereas Chelugui the CS is pushing for Sang, his PS Joseph Irungu is protecting Mburu who happens to be his relative.

Eng. Sang has been overhead claiming, PS Irungu is the stumbling block towards his being the CEO
