Working from home is an art many are still trying to master.

This is after companies asked their employees to work from home to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

It is, however, a craft many are yet to master as the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

Below are some of the challenges people are facing while working at home.

1- Boredom

This is the biggest challenge of working from home especially when one is living alone.

Lack of human interaction makes people bored as there is no one to laugh or chat with.

Watching TV all day, sleeping and eating even when not hungry are fruits of boredom.

2– A sedentary lifestyle

Most people are inactive which is not a very good thing for their health.

There is also an increase in the intake of junk food thus an increased level of lifestyle diseases.

3– Reduced creativity

Working at home has reduced creativity levels to a great extent.

This is because there are so many distractions ranging from kids, spouses, pets, etc.

Unlike the office, one is likely to sleep, watch movies or even go for walks at a time when they are supposed to be working.

4– Breeding ground for depression

For people with mental illnesses working at home is a recipe for disaster.

This is because of the solitary conditions one is confined to.

Most people have no one to talk to about their issues and some are afraid of letting their problems known by others.

Some people are also quarantined with violent partners, knowing there is no easy way out.

5- Increased marital conflicts

Truth be told, there have been increased marital conflicts since people started working from home.

Some people have been sent home on unpaid leave while others have received salary cuts.

This means people are going through financial problems.

Couples are also spending more time together and this may be a breeding ground for conflicts.

This is because couples are learning of behaviors they knew not about their partners.
