Kitchen gadget: Slow cooker – Evewoman

Most people know it as a Crock-Pot but this only is the registered trademark of one of the first slow cookers in the market. There are several other makes and models available now.

Slow cookers have a stoneware pot surrounded by heating elements that allows food cooked in it to cook evenly. Add your soup ingredients, cover it, turn it on, set the cooking time and wait. While waiting, catch up on work or that movie or series you have not had a chance to catch this week. 

One of the slow cooker’s best features is the delayed setting, you can set it to start cooking at a certain time. Once the meal is cooked, the meal is kept warm with the keep warm setting until you get to it. Is that not the coolest thing ever? Take a nap while your meal is cooking and you don’t have to worry that you will burn the house down.
