In a statement issued by Kenya power said that the outage is as a result of a disturbance in the transmission network.
“We have lost power supply in the national grid due to a system disturbance which occurred on our transmission network at 5:49am this morning.” The statement said
The cause of the system disturbance could not be immediately established but the power company says they are working on restoring the power.
“Our engineers are working to identify the hitch and address the hitch towards restoring normal electricity supply,”
The power company is set to issue a more detailed statement later in the day
