Duale To Finally Lose His Job After A Resolution At A 10-Hour Meeting Between Raila And Atwoli

On Sunday, ODM leader Raila Odinga met COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli at his Kajiado home.

According to media reports, Raila was accompanied by the Senate Minority Leader James Orengo and National Assembly Minority Chief Whip Junet Mohamed.

Though the meeting was private, a report by the Standard has claimed that the leaders held a wider discussion that centred on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The local daily reported that the ODM leader was casting his nets wider to curve the appropriate path of the BBI.

The leaders are said to have held a roast-meat chat as they discuss more on the BBI course.

“On the day Deputy President William Ruto ally and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale was walking a tightrope, Raila retreated to Atwoli’s Kajiado home for a roast-meat chat, said to have focused on the BBI,” reads the report by the Standard.

The discussion on the BBI comes at the month when the term for the members of its task force is set to expire though the start drafting of the final report is set for Monday.

The BBI initiative was a product of the March 9, 2018 handshake deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the ODM leader.

The two formed the initiative to tame the perennial violence that has become a norm after each General Election.

The meeting between Raila and the Trade Unionist comes at the backdrop of ongoing onslaught against them from the Ford Kenya and ANC parties.

Embattled Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang’ula and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi accused the ODM leader of plotting their downfall together with Atwoli.

This is after a coup was witnessed at the Ford Kenya party after Western leaders met at Atwoli’s Kajiado home.

However, both Atwoli and Raila denied any linkage to the woes facing Wetang’ula.
