Kenyans wish ODM leader quick recovery after admission

Orange Democratic Leader Raila Odinga is in Dubai to seek specialised treatment for what his brother Oburu Oginga has termed as minor back surgery.

The revelations came after two days of endless speculations about his health and whereabouts with his communications team initially insisting he had flown to DRC.

“Jakom (Raila) is out of the country for a minor surgical operation on his back. It is not a serious health issue, but just a minor one. So, he’s okay,” Oginga told Daily Nation.

Initial reports on social media had indicated the seasoned politician and four times presidential candidate was in China for treatment, the family clarified he had been admitted to a German hospital in Dubai.

“The Germans have a good hospital facility in the Arabian country where he’s being monitored,” he added.

Following the revelations, many Kenyan internet users trooped to their social media platforms to send the 75-year-old leader messages of hope and wish quick recovery.
