According to a statement, contacts of the positive cases had been quarantined after they were successfully traced.
Reports indicated that over 80 people had been quarantined at the facility in Nakuru.
“On Thursday, June 25, 2020, samples of staff at Kabarak Guest House were taken for testing. And on Sunday, June 28, we got the results and two of the samples tested positive,” the statement read in part.
“The county response team took the necessary steps to isolate the cases. The contacts have also been quarantined after tracing them,” it added.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said a meeting that was set to be held at the institution had been shelved due to the incident.
“There was a plan to have people there starting Saturday, June 27, and they were supposed to start working today on the university side.
“On the other side where we had this problem was the guest house, some two people tested positive from the guest house, up to this morning there are 80 people who arrived there, they have been quarantined,” said the CS.

In a separate story, At least six members of parliament are currently admitted in various city hospitals with one being in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after they tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus.
Several other lawmakers who are suspected to have come into contact with the ones admitted were rushed to different hospitals over the weekend to get tested for COVID-19.
The number of cases currently stands at 6,070 after 259 people tested positive for the virus on Sunday, June 29.
Currently, the number of cases stands at 10,272,028, with 504,952 as the death toll.
