Musician Bahati endorses DP William Ruto for 2022 presidency

Deputy President William Ruto has received a boost in his 2022 presidential bid after musician Kevin Kioko popularly known as Bahati endorsed him for the top seat.

The controversial singer said he stood with Jubilee in the last General Election and would fully support the so called hustler nation in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the DP’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi county on Thursday, July 3, Bahati said he was very ready campaign for Ruto through songs.

“In the 2017 presidential elections, I made over 555 stops in the country drumming up support for Jubilee. In 2022, I am also very prepared to ensure the Ruto ascends to power. I want to thank the DP for his time and dedication to the Kenyan youth,”said Bahati.

Bahati had accompanied 30 youth and women groups from Embakasi East, Embakasi South, Dagoretti North and Kamukunji constituencies to the second in command’s office.

Ruto has on several occasions declared his interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta once his second and final term ends in 2022.

Just before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in Kenya, he had criss-crossed the country popularising his “hustler” tag as he prepares for his stab at the presidency.

With COVID-19 restricting movement and public gatherings, Ruto resorted to meeting small youth and women groups who form the majority of the population at his Karen office.

“We are devoted to supporting and offering efficient, effective and innovative entrepreneurship training and solutions to young people running small and medium-sized businesses so that they can overcome obstacles, make use of their untapped potential and realise their dreams and aspirations,”Ruto said.
