A Kenya Airways pilot has been charged with Sh 250 million land fraud and forgery.
Eric Agolla Lugalia is accused of making a certificate of title dated 2nd August 2005 purporting it to be a genuine certificate of title issued by the ministry of lands intent to defraud Stuart Gerald Cullinan Herd of a parcel of land situated in Karen along Bogani road measuring 1.970 hectares valued at approximately Sh 250 million.
Lugalia is facing another charge forging a signature of Peter Mburu Ng’ang’a, a registrar of titles at Ardhi house in Nairobi on a certificate of title entry No.4 dated 17th March 2015 purporting it to be genuine.
According to the charge sheet, the accused also forged a signature of Jonathan Kipkemboi Toroitich on a sale agreement dated 15th January 2015 purporting it to be a genuine transfer document signed by Toroitich.
Additionally, Lugalia is charged with forging an instrument of transfer of land IR No. 99256 and LR No. 1160/308 dated 12th March 2015 purporting it to be a genuine transfer document attested by Sonye J. Ondari, an advocate of high court.
The accused person is alleged to have committed the offence on unknown dates and place within the Republic of Kenya jointly with others not before court.
He denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and was released on a cash bail of Sh 150,000.
