Arsenal have increased their chances of taking part in Europa League next season following their surprise 2-1 win over champions Liverpool on Wednesday night, July 15.
The Gunners were keen to return to winning ways following their derby defeat to Tottenham at the weekend.
However, the had to come from a goal down at the Emirates to stage a dramatic comeback to secure all the three points.
Liverpool dominated the opening exchanges of the encounter and took the lead in the 20th minute through Sadio Mane, slamming home after Robertson slipped a simple ball across goal.

In-form Alexander Lacazette equalised for the home side in the 32nd minute, taking advantage of a defensive gaffe involving Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.
Another fiasco at the back just a minute to half time saw Nelson hand Arsenal the lead as he steered a fine finish across the keeper into the bottom left.
A flurry of activity both at the restart and during the closing stages of the match saw Liverpool nearly draw level but the hosts held on to claim maximum points.
The defeat was Liverpool’s third defeat of the season in the league after losses to Watford and Man City.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain ninth on the league standings with 53 points, three off a Europa League place.
