Rapper Jimwat championing new cause, saving addicts and mentoring the youth

Jimwat’s struggle with alcohol has not been a secret. In fact, the Under 18 hit maker’s road to recovery has been well highlighted in the media. The rapper now is championing a new cause – mentoring the youth. Speaking to Standard Entertainment, the rapper who now runs his own foundation, Jimwat Solo Foundation is sensitising the youth against drug abuse amidst shooting a documentary telling his life story ad struggles.

“In my new single, “Singe”, I try to pass the message that you can overcome drug abuse and move on without regret. A lot of young people are falling into depression since they cannot cope with accepting the reality they are addicts. My message is, learn and live,” he intimated.

The Mr and Miss World Kenya beauty Pageant has stepped up in the fight against Covid-19. Following a meeting with the Ministry of Health led by CAS Mercy Mwangangi at Afya House, the pageant came up with ways to contribute to during this period to support healthcare workers. 

In collaboration with the National Nurses Association, the pageant through Frank Asiyo and Wavinya Maria who are the reigning Mr and Miss Kenya, will today morning take part in various engaging activities in support of all the healthcare workers. The event, which will be held at the JKIA, will also be graced by Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and CAS Mercy Mwangangi. 

Zumba activities involving the nurses are among the set activities for today to help assist nurses with their mental health as well as to relieve stress. An Instagram live session is also set for later today featuring media personality Edith Kimani, which will involve a one-on-one with healthcare workers.
