Senators have suspended the Senate Mashinani sessions due to threats posed by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Deputy Senate Majority Leader Fatuma Dullo who is also the Isiolo senator while moving the motion to cancel the sessions on Tuesday said the current situation of the pandemic cannot allow senators to hold sittings outside Nairobi.
Dullo said COVID-19 has caused disruption of the Senate and Parliament as a whole.

The inaugural Senate Mashinani was held in Uasin Gishu County in late September 2018.
Last year’s sessions were held in Kitui. During the Mashinani sessions, senators conduct all their business, including plenary and Committee sittings outside Nairobi.
