The exit of popular comedian Jalang’o from Milele FM was without doubt bound to create a vacuum. And in filling this vacuum, the MediaMax station has found itself in a bitter fight with Royal Media Services. The fight involves comedian Prof Hamo.

Apparently, MediaMax has been trying to lure Prof Hamo from Royal Media’s Hot 96. This effort appeared to have been fruitful after the comedian expressed interest to move. He was set to join Mediamax Limited’s Milele FM after completing his self-isolation. Hamo self-isolated after co-host Jeff Koinange tested positive for Covid-19.

Reports indicate that Hamo had already signed a contract with MediaMax and was supposed to join radio host Dee also known as Presenter 001 to host Milele FM Drive from 4 pm. to 8 pm.

All teachers, police, civil servants to take salary cuts

Milele FM had started running a radio promotion of Hamo and Dee and on catching wind of it, Hot 96 FM acted swiftly to retain the comedian’s talent. Hamo was reportedly offered another lucrative contract,” one report said. “The Royal Media Services-owned station also made their own promo in which Jeff Koinange announced a radio comeback. Both stations Milele FM and Hot 96 FM concurrently ran promotions on the comedian.”

The Royal Media Services promo by Jeff said: “We’re Baaaaaaack! The Hottest Breakfast Show in all of Africa #JeffAndHamoOnHot returns Monday, August 3, 2020, from 6am. – 10am. Only on Hot 96!”
