Fuel tanker truck catches fire in Kericho: The Standard

A fuel tanker truck on Saturday caught fire at Kapawa on Kericho-Kisumu highway after it overturned and burst into flames.
The driver of the truck is reported to have lost control of the vehicle at the steep blackspot.
Videos and photos from the scene show thick black smoke rising up to the sky.
The fate of the driver and the turn-boy is not immediately clear.
The ill-fated tanker was headed towards Kisumu when the accident occurred.
The incident has caused a traffic snarl-up.
Only dare-devil motorists have driven by the smouldering tanker.
According to Edith Chepkemoi, the incident occurred at around 3pm Saturday.

“Firefighters are yet to arrive at the scene. I can’t tell if the driver and the turn boys managed to escape from the burning vehicle,” she said.
Kericho County Police Commander said he had dispatched traffic officers to the scene and was awaiting their report.
