Ms Mwangangi said the move which is in line with Governments clarion call for increasing tree cover will serve justice to urban population who lack fresh air thanks to industrialization.

She said the exercise will be replicated across the vast Mavoko Constituency thus a major boost for carbon cleaning.

Echoing her sentiments, Mr Mbevi said area residents have suffered from polluted air and time has come to rescue themselves by embarking on a self driven initiative of tree planting.

This comes at a time when Council of Governors has initiated a two million tree planting drive with the  tree expected to be planted by President Uhuru Kenyatta during curtain raising of devolution conference in Makueni County later in the year.
