Tanzania’s Bongo Flava superstar Harmonize has clearly been extremely affected by the passing of former president John Pombe Magufuli. When the death of Magufuli was announced back in March, Harmonize was captured on video weeping uncontrolably. It is well known that the former president was a big supporter of the Tanzaninan music scene. In fact Diamond Platnumz paid tribute to him by saying, “Nyota wa Bongo Fleva wakiendelea kutia vocal hapa studio muda huu katika uandaaji wa wimbo maalumu Kwa ajili ya maombolezo ya msiba wa Taifa uliotokea wa Kifo cha Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania Dkt. John Pombe Magufuli.” 

Harmonize, a.k.a. Konde Boy most recent tribute to TZ’s fallen soldier is a tattoo of Magufuli’s face on his leg. He displayed the new ink on his Instagram storis and captioned it by saying “R.I.P. Kamanda” The ‘Happy Birthday’ hit-maker was known to have a close personal relationship with John Pombe and even released a song to honour his demise titled ‘Magufuli’.
