Huduma Namba: Kericho residents urged to pick uncollected cards – KBC

Kericho County Registration Officer Reuben Andati is calling on area residents to collect their Huduma Namba Cards on time to reduce the backlog at the county’s Huduma Centre.

Andati confirmed that only 69,127 Huduma Namba cards have been collected out of the 118,338 cards, they have received so far.

He added that those that registered in Kericho County but reside in other counties will be informed on where to pick their cards through the notifications being sent to Kenyans as stated by the Huduma Secretariat.

“Once you receive the notification via text message that your card is ready, you have a maximum of 24 hours to change the location that card will be delivered. You change the location using a link provided in the text message,” he noted.

Andati noted that the huge number of uncollected cards, it has been established, is attributed to people who registered in the county but reside in other counties.

Government statistics indicate that at least 38 million people registered for the cards during the voluntary process in 2019.

Andati disclosed that application, processing and issuance of the National Identity Cards is still ongoing even as he urged members of the public who are yet to acquire the Namba to apply.

Under the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS), the State has combined all vital documents, including the national ID, passport, driving license, National Social Security Fund and the National Hospital Insurance Fund numbers.

Data collected through the Huduma Namba registration is being stored in the Integrated Population Registration System — the central location for easy electronic access by institutions, including private corporations that provide crucial and sensitive services.
