Scare as Mugumo Tree Bursts Into Flames – LitKenya

There was a scare at Gacharage village in Murang’a County after a Mugumo tree fell and bursted into flames.

The incident happened on Thursday, 10th June.

Residents who gathered at the place could be heard asking questions in a video clip shared by TV 47.

“Where is the fire coming from? This is very strange,” a man said.

Litkenya.com could not tell whether the fire was natural or man-made.

But the Mugumo tree is considered sacred among the Agikuyu people, so it is unlikely the fire was started by humans.

Whenever a Mugumo tree falls, it is usually a sign of a looming major occurrence, bad omen or change of guard.

Agikuyu elders are now expected to conduct a ritual at the place.

Three months ago, another Mugumo tree fell in Kabete, Kiambu County.
