Kalonzo Retorts to Raila – LitKenya

National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo have continued to trade barbs over the 2022 presidential election.

A few days go, the Wiper leader said he would rather quit politics than back Raila for the top seat again. Kalonzo was the former Prime Minister’s running mate in 2013 and 2017 elections.

The ex-Vice-President insisted that his time to square it out for the presidency has come.

The ODM leader told off the Wiper boss, saying he has never asked him for support.

“I have not declared whether I will run or rot. I don’t understand why people are barking,” he said in Mombasa.

In yet another rejoinder, Kalonzo has said he would continue speaking his mind.

He said the former Premier’s sentiments did not hurt.

“Raila should act honourably. He won’t stop me from barking. I will continue barking about tribalism and other injustices,” he said.

The divisions in the opposition coalition come days after President Uhuru Kenyatta reportedly said he would support one of the Nasa principals to succeed him.

The Star newspaper reported that the Head of State asked Nasa leaders to agree who they want him to endorse.
