There is a looming clash on the scheduled reopening of Dandora Stadium with different factions disagreeing on the reopening date.
Just a day after the Dandora Stadium Committee, Embakasi North MCAs and County Secretary agreed on postponing the re-opening, a section of youths has come out to condemn the meeting.
The youth claim that the meeting was a sellout to the community that has been waiting for a very long time to use the stadium.
According to the community members they will continue with the grand re-opening of the stadium as slated earlier.
‘‘We want to tell Seke and the MCAs who were in that meeting that we shall not postpone the re-opening of the stadium if you were bribed that’s up to you labda mlilishwa thao mbili ,thao tatu labda promise empty hiyo hatutatki,’’ they said.
County secretary Jairus Musumba yesterday held a daylong meeting with the committee and area leaders where the two parties agreed to postpone the re-opening for a month as they consult with Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
‘‘We had a very fruitful meeting and we have agreed to postpone the reopening by one month as advised by the county secretary but should they fail we shall have no option but to reopen it,’’ stadium committee chairman Seke said.
