Tottenham Forward Heung-Min Son Signs New Long-term Contract

South Korea winger, Heung-Min Son has signed a new four-year contract with the English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

The new deal will keep him at the club until 2025.

“It was already a big honour to play here for six years, the club have shown me massively, massive respect and I’m very happy to be here,” Son was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“It’s like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.”

For his part, Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici said: “We are pleased to have agreed on a new long-term contract with Heung-Min Son as we move towards the start of a new season and a new chapter for the club with Nuno Espirito Santo.

“Everyone can see the real positive impact he has on the club, both on and off the field, and we are delighted that he will play a part in what we are trying to achieve in the coming years.”

Son has been a key player for Spurs since joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015, the 29-year-old has scored 107 goals in 280 appearances.

At the international level, he has been capped 93 times by South Korea, scoring 27 goals and appearing at two World Cups.

Tottenham will start their 2021/22 league campaign under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo on 15th August with a home game against defending champions Manchester City.
