Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa is on the spotlight once again after he slapped a contractor at Kamukuywa location in Bungoma county.

The lawmaker was recorded on camera slapping Stephen Masinde after an altercation over payment for a tender.

Masinde and his counterpart Ronald Wafula were demanding pay for classrooms they renovated at a cost of Ksh3.4 million.

They had locked the classrooms and vowed not to hand over the keys until the debt is settled.

After arguing for some minutes, the parliamentarian raised his hand and gave Masinde a heavy slap.

Barasa was seen leaving the place in a hurry after the incident, with his bouncers protecting him.

Masinde said the lawmaker has been playing hide and seeks games whenever they demand pay.

“When we asked the MP to pay us he says that he does not pay contractors half of their money but he pays them full and he will do so and we shouldn’t be worried.

“I have closed this classes because they cannot begin to operate without me being paid as they will be spoiled by children and he might end up refusing to pay me completely,” he said.
