Wangui Ngirici Runda Home: Auctioneers raided Kirinyaga Women Rep Wangui Ngirici’s Runda home on Monday over a Sh. 5 million chopper debt.

Reports say that Ngirici had hired a helicopter between May 8 and August 17, 2016. The cost incurred was Sh. 5.9 million. She paid some amount and was left with a balance of Sh. 3.9 million. After failing to pay the balance, NCS Auctioneers stormed her Runda home in the morning following instructions from Flex Air Charters.

The auctioneers did not, however, cart away any items after the intervention of Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata. Acting as Ngirici’s lawyer, Kang’ata promised the auctioneers that he would deliver a cheque with the balance. “Yes the lawyer (Kangata) agreed to drop a check in our office,” NCS Auctioneers said.

Prior to the auctioning, Flex Air Charters had moved to court seeking orders to auction off Ngirici and her husband Andrew over the unpaid debt. The business won the court case and the couple was ordered to pay the balance, failure to which they stood exposed to auctioning.

On her part, Ms. Ngirici is the current Women Rep for Kirinyaga and is set to square it off with incumbent Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat in the upcoming 2022 General Elections.
