UBA Kenya picks Chike Isiuwe as new CEO, MD

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 20- United Bank of Africa Kenya has appointed Chike Isiuwe as the new Chief Executive Officer and the Managing Director of the Bank.

He replaces Kehinde Omirinde who was leading the bank in an acting capacity.

Isiuwe was the immediate Deputy General Manager Corporate Banking Directorate at the UBA Group in Nigeria.

Securing the position of a Managing Director, Isiuwe has over two decades of experience in the banking industry working across customer experience, corporate banking, consumer banking, marketing, relationship management and credit underwriting.

“Before joining UBA Africa, Isiuwe worked at the Zenith Bank plc for 17 years starting as a bank teller and progressing to relationship management in corporate and commercial banking and in various capacities in branch operations,” reads the bank’s statement.

Isiuwe holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Nigeria and a Diploma in Computer Science.

He also holds various professional certifications including Project Finance, Loan and Transaction structuring, Transformational leadership.

Operating since 2009, UBA Kenya is a subsidiary of UBA Plc, licensed under the Central Bank of Kenya.
