The Ministry of Health on Sunday, 29th August, announced 363 new Covid-19 cases, raising the country’s caseload to 234,952.
In a press statement issued in Nairobi, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the latest figure had been derived from 4,594 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This brings to 2,363,524 the cumulative number of Covid-19 tests. The country’s positivity rate is at 7.9 per cent.
Of the cases, 359 are Kenyans while four are foreigners, with 170 being females and 193 males. The youngest is a two-year-old baby, while the oldest is 97.
Some 1,247 patients have recovered from the disease, 1,114 from the home-based and isolation care, while 55 are from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 220,953.
Kenya reported 16 new deaths pushing the death toll to 4,710.
