Ex-IEBC Boss Appointed as New Communication Authority Director-General

Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba has been appointed Director-General of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) for a renewable period of four years.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 28th September the authority’s board chairman Kembi Gitura said Chiloba’s appointment takes effect immediately.

“The appointment follows a competitive recruitment process to fill the position left vacant with the retirement of the former director-general, Mr. Francis Wangusi,” read part of the authority’s statement.

He replaces Mercy Wanjau who has been holding the position in an acting capacity.

Chiloba is a policy consultant and Principle Partner with Chimp and Kemp consultancy and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Arts degree from Central European University in Hungary and a Master of Science degree in Program Management from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

He also studied a Blockchain strategy program at Said Business School at the University of Oxford.

He holds further training in Corporate Governance, Projects Management, Collaborative Leadership and in Monitoring and Evaluation.
