KANU party national delegates have endorsed Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to vie for the presidency on the party’s ticket in the 2022 General Elections.

Gideon’s endorsement was announced on 30rh September at a conference held at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.

The conference was attended by at least 3,000 delegates drawn from Kenya’s 47 counties.

The delegates said they have allowed Moi to engage other political leaders as the 2022 race for the presidency takes shape.

Speaking during the event, the Baringo Senator said that he was ready to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2022 General Elections.

“As we look at the pivotal moments in Kenya’s history KANU towers above the rest… KANU was that party that provided Kenya with 38 years of peace and stability, KANU was the party that ensured two peaceful transitions of presidencies,” he said.

“Today I want to declare that our half-time is over and we are back! The game to do is different, lazima form ikuwe different.…Volume iko sawa ama niongeze?”

Gideon said that in the coming days and weeks the party will unveil the roadmap to a different Kenya.

“We will demonstrate how we will do things radically different for the poor and marginalized, for the pastoralists,” he added.

Among leaders who graced the event include ODM party leader Raila Odinga, Amani National Congress(ANC) Party Leader, Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Other leaders who attended the event include Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, Adan Keynan MP Eldas, Amos Kimunya MP Kipipiri, Abdulkadir Haji Garissa senator, West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio and Kieni MP Kanini Kega.
