The second edition of British Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCK) index has attracted 41 entries up from 24 recorded last year.
The index seeks to support code if ethics for UK businesses in Kenya and bring trust and ethics in business operations.
The 2021 BCCK Integrity Index featured 47 companies operating in different sectors of the economy that comprise between 3 to 3000 employees.
According to Sonal Sejpal the Chairperson of BCCK, the integrity index recognises efforts being made to run trusted and ethical businesses.
” We aim to prove that ethical businesses pays by sign posting index companies to UK organisations looking for Kenyan Partners,” said Sejpal.
This years nominees were assessed on their track record including rule based policies covering bribery, embezzlement, corruption and money laundering.
Theo Clark, the UK’s Prime Minister Trade Envoy to Kenya pointed out that integrity remains a key pillar in enhancing the trade between Kenya and the United Kingdom.
This years’ nominees focussed on companies that have done well anti corruption reforms and the fight against climate change.

Nominees for this second edition BII initiative were drawn from Healthcare, ICT, Financial sector, agriculture, Manufacturing, energy and Real Estate.
The BCCK Business Intergrity Initiative provides practical guidance toolkits and public private dialogues. The 2021 edition of the Business Intergrity Index was delivered in partnership with Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC), Global Compact Network Kenya, KenInvest and the Institute of Internal Auditors Kenyan Chapter.
