Three terror convicts who escaped under unclear circumstances from Kamiti Maximum Security Prison in Nairobi on Monday, 15th November have been arrested.
Musharaf Abdalla alias Alex Shikanda, Joseph Juma Odhiambo and Mohammed Ali Abikar were arrested in Mwingi East as they approached Ukasi.
According to sleuths, the suspects were arrested after they received a tip-off from locals and moved swiftly to arrest the trio.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations had announced a reward of Ksh60 million, Ksh20 million each, to anyone with information of their whereabouts.
Musharaf Abdalla Akhulunga alias Zarkawi was arrested on 30th September 2012, over his participation in a foiled terrorist attack on Parliament Buildings, Nairobi. He was charged with possession of explosives, ammunition and firearms.
Zarkawi comes from Ekero area of Mumias in Kakamega County.
Mohamed Ali Abikar was arrested following his involvement in the Garissa University attack that occurred on 2nd April 2015.
Meanwhile, the third suspect, Joseph Juma Odhiambo alias Yusuf, was arrested on 21st November 2019 at Bulla Hawa in Somalia while attempting to enlist with Al-Shabaab.
