Media personality Felix Odiwor alias Jalang’o has officially kick-started his campaigns following his declaration that he will be vying for Lang’ata Parliamentary seat in 2022 under Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
This comes just a day after former premier Raila Odinga proclaimed his quest for Presidency at the Azimio La Umoja Convention held at Kasarani International Stadium.
“I hereby announce the launch of a movement anchored on the pillars of Utu, Undugu, Umoja, Usawa na Uzalishaji (humility, brotherliness, unity, equality, and productivity) – Azimio La Umoja Movement.
“I do hereby accept to present myself as a Presidential candidate at the Presidential Election on August 9, 2022, following the request and unanimous decision by this Azimio La Umoja,” Raila declared.
Jalang’o launched his campaign merchandise that includes orange t-shirts branded “Utu Na Watu” which is a slogan similar to that of Raila Odinga. He has distributed the t-shirts to the youths of Lang’ata Constituency where he seeks to unseat the current lawmaker, Nixon Korir, of Jubilee Party. Nixon won the parliamentary elections after emerging the winner ahead of ODM’s Oscar Omoke.
Lang’ata is said to be Raila’s backyard considering that he was the area’s Member of Parliament (MP) for more than 20 years from 1992 to 2002. Jalang’o hopes that he will emerge the winner of the impending General Elections, following the footsteps of Raila Odinga, his political god.
“I am going to be the next MP of Langata. Youths change your votes. Come and vote for us to build a new Langata. I am campaigning for myself. I am very serious, I am the next MP of Langata. Mark this day.
“I don’t go for things I can’t get. And once I have, I said it… start getting used to your future MP,” Jalang’o stated in the past.
